Outfit #9 Black & Black

I rarely wear heat-to-toe black anymore, but sometimes it just works.

Outfit #8: Seaworthy

So I am aware that wearing leggings as pants is probably a curvy girl no-no. Ladies, I am here to tell you that it is so comfortable.  Honestly, I went out in the outfit below last night and was sorry happy in it all evening. I think it also helps that I was wearing some pretty sturdy tights from Hue, they do a good job of containing all the bits I might be worried about. No self-consciousness required.

Blouse: Penny Arcade (i love that store)
Tights: Hue

Of course I had to have some good accessories go go with my amazing natutically-themed shirt. These are some of my favourites, raided from my mother's 90s costume jewelry collection.

Arm Candy

I saw my lovely friend Kelly last night...check out her lovely assortment on bracelets! Also, floral tapestry sewing machine case as laptop bag. Very cool.

You can check out Check out Kelly's super awesome Etsy Shop here.

Outfits #6 and #7: Plaid and Print

I am a big fan of patterns and prints, and also of holding on to my Winter accessories for as long as possible. This hat and scarf and blazer combination is a favourite of mine.

Hat: Goodwill
Blazer: Value Village
Scarf: HBC collection

Sometimes I am a bit over the top with the matchy-matchyness, notice how my hat and necklace match the yellow in my dress? I totally did that on purpose. So cool, right?
Dress: French Connection

Finally: this is just a super awkward photo. But it's kind of funny.

Cardigan: Marilyn Moore
Shirt: Club Monaco
Skirt: Value Village (it's actually a Girl Guides skirt that I shortened. It originally belonged to Laura Bryan)

Outfit #5: Little House on the Prairie

I have no qualms about wearing a skirt that makes it seem like I spend my days churning cream and baking bread. Whenever I wear it i'm well aware that i'm verging on eccentric...and I refuse to care.

Skirt: Value Village

Outfit #3: Sale Rail

Some of my favourite items are the ones i've spent the least amount of money on. I got this dress for $3 at Penny Arcade (at Dundas and Ossington) on their end of summer sale rail. I needed to do a bit of sewing to make it work (it originally had a very dropped waistline and was meant to be quite oversized on a small person) bit it's one of my favourite dresses.
Value Village is one of my favourite places for belts. I got this one recently and I love the pattern on it!

Outfit #2: A Few Of My Favourite Things

I am going to have to learn how to take better self-portraits! I think that looking at the camera and smiling would be a good start. I promise to practise...I think I smile a lot normally so it shouldn't be to hard.

This may be my favourite dress ever. I bought it from Sisley when I lived in London, I remember it feeling like a huge splurge since I was so poor at the time! But I have had it for so long now I am sure that the cost per wear is almost nothing, and it gave me a solid and lasting appreciation for a good jersey dress.

This wrap cardigan is from Uniqlo and is another thing I love. I know it's not the most flattering thing but it's just so cosy. As a bonus, I find it impossible not to feel cool when i'm wearing houndstooth. (Why are feeling cool and being sexy such completely different things?)

And finally the glasses! They are actually prescription, my lovely cousin bought them for me when she lived in Korea. Sadly I realised today that my prescription has changed dramatically since I got them and  now they only correct my vision about 1/2 way. They aren't so bad looking at a computer at work, but aren't so good for being out in the world on a Saturday.

Outfit #1: Full Circle

This may not be the most dramatic outfit to start off with, but it's undeniably a classic example of my style. Cardigan? Check. Full skirt, below the knee? Check. Glasses? Check. Complete lack of attention to hair and makeup? Check.

Skirt: Value Village
Cardigan: Clothing swap
Glasses: martin + martin

And a close-up of my elephant pendant, which I found in Quebec City a couple of summers ago...
