Outfit #60: Country Girl

So this outfit may have been better in theory that it was in practice. I really like this shirt, but it does tend to look rather boxy when I put it on. I am not sure about the skirt...it was kind of an awkward length, so I shortened it and added the lace, and I think maybe this wasn't an improvement...or maybe the skirt just wan't worth it to begin with. Or maybe i just need to find the right top for it...

You may notice that i am wearing shorts under my skirt. I have decided not to worry too much about people getting the occasional glimpse of my cycling shorts...it's better than people seeing my bum as i bike to work! I should invest in some pretty lacy ones but those tend to be rather expensive.

Outfit #59: Not-So-Casual Fridays

I have to say I really enjoy working somewhere where I can where want I want everyday. Sometimes this results in my being a bit more dressed up than most people at work...just because I like to dress up.

Does anyone know where to buy good leggings that don't bag at the knees? American Apparel are the WORST for that.

Outfit #58: Slouchy Saturday

Sometimes it's nice to have a lazy weekend day, where you don't have any plans and just do whatever you feel like. Or nothing if you feel like it! I did go out to the farmer's market this morning, and I chose an outfit that i thought looked nice enough for my excursion while still being something I could lounge around in for the afternoon if I so desired.

This floral blouse is nice and oversized, and I was quite happy to wear it over a long camisole and  some "activewear" leggings. It also made me feel pretty.

Top: Goodwill
Camisole: Costco (thanks mum!)
Leggings: Winners

Outfit #57 Hot

Amelia: What's wrong with you?
Martirio: The heat makes me feel ill.
Amelia: And it's no more than that?
Martirio: I was wishing it were November. The rainy days, the frost - anything except this unending summertime.

It's dreadfully hot in Toronto, I really hate this kind of weather. I keep checking the forecast to see when it's supposed to cool down...but it looks like we still have a couple more days to go. I didn't ride my bike today due to the extreme heat (was that lazy? I felt guilty about it all day... but really it's awful out) so I decided it was a good day for a maxi skirt. I've got a pattern-and-print mix going on here, with the stripes and the florals, and it's working pretty well. Not a bad outfit for my least favourite weather!

Outfit #56 Collar and Cuffs

So this is NOT the outfit I wore today, It is way too hot out for a long-sleeved shirt! I wore this to work a couple of Fridays ago. I like this shirt a lot, especially the French Cuffs! It does require a plain rather than a printed skirt though...and it seems that most of my skirts these days are printed. It's nice to wear something a little different!

Outfit #56: Back To School

A few weeks ago I went to visit my mum and cleared out a lot of stuff that's been sitting in her basement for the last ten years. I donated quite a bit of clothing...but decided to keep one school uniform shirt. And then I decided to wear that shirt at work today. And since my school uniform was that shirt and any navy bottom (at one point I wore navy velour flared jeans), I basically wore my high school uniform to work today.

Outfit #55: Faux Folk

I am sure that I have worn this skirt/jumper a few times since starting this blog, I am not sure why i have never posted it before! However i got two compliments on it today - from strangers - so i thought it was a good day to share it. I do really like it, I love how full and gathered the skirt is, and of course the embroidery on the straps is so pretty! I got it at Bungalow in Kensington market, but it was originally from Pier 1 Imports. Which i find rather amusing.

Silverware

Just bought myself a little present from a craft show...my decision may have been influenced by the cute boy making/selling them.
